Power Coming Back On After Power Cut
Always wait for 5 minutes after power is restored; if the power is going to trip again the likelihood is that it will happen within 5 minutes.
Power coming back on after a power cut can cause RCDs to trip, or fuses to blow, due to an effect called ‘inrush’. Turn all electrical appliances off during a power cut; turn the electrical appliances back on one at a time.
If electrical appliances do not turn on after a power cut check the RCDs and fuses; if the RCDs and fuses are OK check the power cables and electrical sockets for signs of damage.
